The Miami Digital Literacy Project is looking for dedicated student volunteers who are passionate about helping others and making technology more accessible in our community.
As a volunteer, you will help older adults and community members build confidence using everyday technology, including smartphones, tablets, computers, email, online forms, apps, websites, video calling, photo organization, and online safety tools.
Volunteers do not need to be technology experts. We are looking for students who are patient, respectful, responsible, and willing to work one-on-one with people who may feel nervous or unfamiliar with technology.
MDLP volunteers may assist with:
Helping participants use phones, tablets, and computers
Teaching basic email, texting, and app skills
Explaining websites, online forms, and digital services
Helping organize photos, files, and documents
Supporting workshops and community events
Answering technology questions in a clear and patient way
Promoting online safety and digital confidence
Volunteering with MDLP is a meaningful way to earn service hours while making a direct impact in Miami-Dade County.
Students interested in joining the Miami Digital Literacy Project must complete a volunteer application. After reviewing applications, selected students will be contacted for a brief interview.
The interview allows us to learn more about each applicant, their interest in MDLP, and their ability to work with community members in a respectful and patient manner.
Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. Volunteers are selected based on availability, responsibility, communication skills, and commitment to MDLP’s mission.
